NP III Clinical Ladder Purpose
The UCSF Health Clinical Ladder recognizes the Nurse Practitioner III as clinical experts who demonstrate excellence through advanced clinical practice, education and leadership.
The purpose of this role is to encourage nurse practitioners to become advanced practice leaders by participating in clinical care, research, education and service to the medical center. If awarded the NP III promotion, it is valid for 3 years.

Application Deadlines
Initial and Reappointment Applications, including all supporting documentation and signatures, are accepted twice per year as outlined in the table below. All applications are due by 5:00 PM on the due date. NP IIIs must submit a reappointment application packet every three years.
