NP III and PA III Clinical Ladder
The UCSF Health Clinical Ladder recognizes the Nurse Practitioner III and Physician Assistant III as clinical experts who demonstrate excellence through advanced clinical practice, education and leadership.
The purpose of this role is to encourage nurse practitioners and physician assistants to become advanced practice leaders by participating in clinical care, research, education and service to the medical center. If awarded the NP III / PA III promotion, it is valid for 3 years.

Important deadlines
Initial application packets are accepted twice per year in the months of March and September. Applications are due by the last business day of these months by 5:00 PM.

Reappointment application packets are accepted twice per year in the months of February and August. Applications are due by the last business day of these months by 5:00 PM. NP III's and PA III's must submit a reappointment application packet every three years.
