Advisory Board

The purpose of the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Advisory Board is to advance the practice and professionalism of the Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) at UCSF Health and its affiliate partners. APPs encompass Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Nurse Anesthetists, and Nurse Midwives.

The APP Advisory Board meets on the third Tuesday every month at 5:30 pm for one hour.

Goals of the APP Advisory Board

• Positively influence patient care outcomes by promoting evidence-based practice Advance research and scholarship opportunities among APPs Review and approve APP promotion process and documents
• Enhance the clinical practice of all APP constituents
• Share permitted Board proceedings broadly within the APP workforce across UCSF Health

The Board specifically addresses policy/procedure, regulatory and law change implementation, communication, education, sharing and promoting professional growth opportunities, and clinical issues impacting or related to APPs. The board will be composed of a maximum number of 23 voting members (min goal of 2 from BCH, OAK), excluding the Chief of Advanced Practice (who will serve as the executive sponsor for the AB) and the Board Liaison & leadership group members. Board members should represent the diversity of APP professional groups and roles in both inpatient and outpatient settings and within pediatric and adult services.
